Free DoFollow Backlinks with Relevant Anchor Texts – Day 29

August 26, 2008 by

There is nothing more beneficial than a relevant DoFollow backlink, that is the true essence behind search engine optimization. I’d like discuss a method different from blog comments, directory submissions, and article directories. Although these are great places to achieve backlinks, its great to add to the diversity of your incoming links to help make things appear as natural as possible.[ad#in-post]

Every now and then you will come across to obtain DoFollow links from a quality website that is not a blog or article directory or that will require alot less work than those methods.

Introducing the online magazine idea, these are websites that are online versions of print magazines. I’m going to give a specific example of an online print magazine. By adjusting my idea and finding an online magazine website for your niche you too can create some very easy and quality backlinks.

The name of this online magazine for this specific example is called Search Marketing Standard.  Yahoo reports 11,576  inbound links to the website and over 786 pages cached. Not to mention that this specific website was just acquired by iNet interactive. This example is on the up and up for online magazines. So how can you use these online magazines to your benefit?

Same way that you get some backlinks from Blogs! They are basically a blog, redesigned and labeled as a ‘magazine’. As such they have a spot to place comments, with links heading back to your website. For this example they have their website set up well and have managed to distribute pagerank well among the various articles. Most articles have a PR 2 – 3! Not too shabby for a backlink.

Remember to search for your specific niche and find similar magazine websites that allow DoFollow links. By creating such diversity among incoming links Google and other search engines will slowly understand and recognize that your site is an authority website. As a result you will slowly begin to crawl up the SERPs.

I’m under the impression that Nofollow is pointless and isn’t useful. Maybe only for Yahoo it is.

Its always worth remembering there is probably a cut off point for what Google counts as a link – why not 55 characters?

Might be an anti-spam measure, too.

Keyword stuffing in anchor text is another point that can often get overlooked by web designers or search marketers. Search engines are smart enough to pick up repetions in anchor text as much as in standard on page text. Often while we are careful to ensure there is no keyword stuffing in main body text and that the content flows as regular language; you will be surprised to see how many times the keywords are repeated within the anchor text. Whilst it is perfectly OK and an effective SEO technique to use most desired keywords within the anchor and title for links and images; it is improtant to ensure slight variations as opposed to simply repeating the exact phrases.
